Andersen’s Mark Jones Named National Ryder Driver of the Year

On the road is where Mark Jones is an expert.
A dedicated driver based at Andersen’s Sacramento logistics center, Mark was recently named Ryder’s National Driver of the Year — the highest honor among more than 145,000 professional drivers nationwide.

This distinguished honor highlights Mark’s steadfast dedication to safety, service, and sustainability. Being named Northern California Driver of the Year for the second time, alongside this national recognition, underscores his exceptional contributions to both the logistics industry and Andersen’s operations team.

A U.S. Air Force veteran who served as a sergeant during Operation Desert Storm, Mark brings military discipline and leadership to his role every day. Since joining Andersen in 2007, he has maintained an 11-year accident-free record, mentored new drivers, and championed innovative solutions to improve operations and safety.
Mark played a key role in the successful rollout of a fleet camera system, helping to build trust and guide his peers through the transition. He also leads by example in sustainability, volunteering as the first driver to operate an electric tractor and spearheading the installation of an e-bike charging station at Andersen’s Sacramento facility.
“Mark’s leadership goes beyond just driving — he’s always looking for ways to improve our operations and help his fellow drivers succeed. This national award is a reflection of his dedication, and we’re incredibly proud to have him on our team.”
Nate Heinze, manager of Andersen’s Sacramento Logistics Center
Mark's recognition continues a strong track record for Andersen, contributing to five total Ryder awards earned by Andersen’s Sacramento drivers over time.
