The Department of Education’s White House Initiative on Advancing Educational Equity, Excellence, and Economic Opportunity through Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) welcomed Andersen at the 2023 National HBCU Week Conference.

“It was a great opportunity for us to connect with talented and diverse candidates,” said Melissa Brown, senior director, talent and organizational development at Andersen. “We know that HBCU graduates have a lot to offer, and we took the time to learn more about their skills, interests and aspirations.”

The White House Initiative is dedicated to a government-wide policymaking effort to eliminate barriers HBCUs face in providing the highest-quality education to a growing number of students. The National HBCU Week Conference is the nation’s premier convening of college and university executive leadership, faculty, students, with federal partners, national educational leaders, and corporate partners. Andersen exhibited with other notable employers such as Google, Pepsi, T-Mobile, NASA, and government agencies at the invitation-only 5th Annual National HBCU Week Conference Career and Recruitment Fair.

“By having a presence at HBCU Week, we not only strengthened our brand as an employer of choice, but we showed our support to HBCUs and amplified the incredible work these schools do to prepare their students for the workforce,” said Tou Yang, talent acquisition partner lead. “This will be the start of an ongoing relationship and partnership that directly ties to our DEI mission and strategy.”
