Andersen Corporation, a longtime supporter of Habitat for Humanity, has announced its commitment as the first Diamond Sponsor of the 2024 Jimmy & Rosalynn Carter Work Project, co-hosted by Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity and Habitat for Humanity International. At a total of $1 million in contributions, the Diamond Sponsorship is the top-level sponsorship for this event. Andersen Corporation, the largest window and door manufacturer in North America, based in Bayport, Minnesota, will contribute a combination of in-kind window donations and financial sponsorship, as well as many volunteer hours to help make this project a success.

“As a leader in the building industry, we know how fundamental a safe, stable and affordable home is to the health, happiness and prosperity of families,” said Chris Galvin, president and chief executive officer at Andersen Corporation. “We are honored to stand alongside Habitat for Humanity for this year’s Carter Work Project, bringing more affordable housing to our headquarters' community. As Habitat works to fulfill its mission, building homes, hope, and brighter futures, we are proud to be investing in this community.”

The Jimmy & Rosalynn Carter Work Project is an annual event which celebrates the impact that President and Mrs. Carter have had on Habitat for Humanity’s mission and helps cast a global spotlight on the urgent need for affordable housing. Over its nearly 40-year history, the Carter Work Project has touched lives around the world by inspiring more than 106,000 volunteers across the U.S. and in 14 countries to build, renovate, and repair 4,417 Habitat homes. The 2024 event will take place September 29 through October 4 in the Twin Cities.

“Andersen has been an integral supporter of our work for decades,” said Kate Loe, VP of Resource Development, Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity. “We're thrilled they are now leading the way with a $1 million Diamond Sponsorship of this historic event for our community. We couldn’t be prouder of our deep and lasting relationship with Andersen.”

The 2024 Carter Work Project will launch Habitat’s construction efforts at The Heights on St. Paul's East Side, Twin Cities Habitat's largest-ever development with nearly 150 Habitat homes. The Heights is a major redevelopment of the 112-acre former Hillcrest Golf Course on St. Paul’s East Side. The broader development will be transformational for the East Side, delivering more than 1,000 housing units, 1,000 jobs, and a new community with greenspaces and amenities. The Saint Paul Port Authority is leading the redevelopment effort; Sherman Associates, JO Companies, and Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity will contribute housing development at the site.

Andersen Corporation has supported Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity since 1989. During the course of the 35-year relationship, Andersen has been an active, innovative ally in many facets of Twin Cities Habitat’s work. Including the $1 million Carter Work Project Diamond Sponsorship, Andersen Corporation has donated more than $3.8 million in funding and product to Twin Cities Habitat.

Over the last decade, nearly 9,000 employees have volunteered their time to build and repair homes. Andersen has also sponsored fundraising events, the Women Build program and Andersen President and CEO, Chris Galvin, co-hosted the CEO Build this past fall.
