Roger Williams University Project

Bristol, Rhode Island

Gale Associates, Inc. was hired by Roger Williams University to perform an evaluation of their residential housing complex, which was experiencing moisture and air infiltration due to a failed exterior insulation finish system and faulty windows. The repair project included removing the existing wall system back to the stud frame, with installation of new sheathing, air barriers, exterior insulation, fiber cement siding and aluminum-clad wood windows with integral flanges. Andersen worked to specify and custom-size E-Series double-hung windows with custom frame depth and structural mulls to replace the existing windows. The field consultation, mock up installation and close coordination between Andersen, Gale Associates, Roger Williams University and the contractors was the key to the success of this complex commercial replacement. Roger Williams University and Gale Associates chose Andersen E-Series double-hung windows because they had been very pleased with the long-term performance and durability of extruded aluminum E-Series windows in past construction projects at the school and the service level provided throughout the early phases of design development in the current three-phase commercial renovation process.
