Spring Cleaning: Easy as 1, 2, 3!

Here comes the sun! With spring in full bloom, it’s time to get your home ready for warmer weather with our easy window maintenance tips.

1. Clean Your Windows

Windows can take a big impact from winter weather. Cold winds can bring dust, dirt and even salt from the roads onto your windows. First step of your prep should be to wash the interior and exterior of your windows. Best part? It couldn’t be easier. We recommend using a solution of mild soap and water, but any window cleaner will do.

2. Repair Insect Screens

Make sure to repair or replace any damaged insect screens. If you have stored your insect screens for the winter, now is the perfect time to reinstall them onto your window or patio door frames (see video below).

Be sure to clean your insect screens and replace any torn or damaged screen mesh to safely keep bugs and rodents out of your home.

3. Open windows and doors to let the home air out

Once the weather is nice, it’s a good idea to air out your home. Ventilation helps your home rid itself of moisture, smoke, cooking odors and indoor pollutants. Letting the fresh air in is an easy way to reduce the pollution levels inside your home.
