Minnesota’s Como Zoo Benefits from Renewal’s State Fair Success

Como Friends, the fundraising arm of Minnesota’s oldest zoo, recently received a $10,000 donation from Andersen Corporation.

Renewal by Andersen pledged $10 to the Como Zoo and Conservatory for every appointment booked during the 2018 Minnesota State Fair. Renewal also held a drawing for fairgoers who signed up in the booth to win a “Giraffe Party” and the chance to feed Skeeter the giraffe. The check presentation and giraffe party were held Sept. 29 at the zoo.

Over the last 30 years, the Andersen Corporate Foundation has given $241,000 to Como Zoo and Conservatory. Founded in 1897, Como is Minnesota’s oldest zoo.

“Renewal by Andersen is proud to support Como Friends and Como Zoo and Conservatory, and we’re grateful for our customers and the Minnesota State Fair for making this possible,” said Justin Miller, event and retail manager at Renewal by Andersen in the Twin Cities. “This donation supports Andersen’s long relationship with Como and our shared focus on STEM education and sustainability.”
