Winde RTW/Windows 

This tool is a mobile optimized web application that enables you to calculate design wind pressures1 for windows and doors as well as site-specific wind speeds for ASCE 7-102, and design roof-to-wall (RTW) uplift loads3. It applies to any state that has adopted the 2012/2015 International Residential Code or 2012/2015 International Building Code. The application only costs $9.95 per year and works on your desktop computer and mobile device (Apple® or Android®).

1Design Wind Pressures for Windows: Winde RTW/Windows calculates design wind pressures for windows and doors. The window design pressures are based on the Low-rise Buildings (mean roof heights less than or equal to 60 ft) provisions of Section 30.4 in ASCE 7-10. The results are specified for windows but the loads could be used for other wall component in accordance with the limitations provided. The results are provided as Allowable Stress Design loads.
2Site-Specific Basic Wind Speeds for ASCE 7-10: Winde RTW/Windows is a mobile optimized web application that calculates site specific wind speeds using the GPS coordinate system. The application provides wind speeds for ASCE 7-10. Wind speeds can be obtained by entering the latitude and longitude coordinates in decimal form, using your mobile device’s location capabilities, or entering a physical address. The program uses the ATC Wind Speed By Location database to determine wind speeds. Wind speeds are site-specific for the GPS coordinates provided and are found by interpolation to the nearest 1-mph.
3Design Roof-to-Wall Uplift Loads: Winde RTW/Windows calculates design loads for the connection of the roof framing to the wall for wind uplift loads (roof-to-wall uplift loads or RTW). The roof-to-wall loads are calculated based on the Directional Procedure (Section 27.4) in ASCE 7-10 for roof angles that are greater than or equal to 20 degrees. The results are provided as Allowable Stress Design loads.
