Whether you’re engaged in remodeling or new construction, with Andersen and Renewal by Andersen you can rest assured you’re buying products that contribute to a healthier living environment.
Andersen® windows and doors and Renewal by Andersen® replacement windows have received Scientific Certification Systems (SCS) Indoor AdvantageTM Gold certification for indoor air quality. This level of certification meets North America’s strictest indoor air emission criteria, namely the California Section 01350 Specification, the strictest emission standard in the U.S. This certification is based upon rigorous, peer-reviewed science and uses the health-based exposure limits required by the state of California for school children. Certified products meeting the CA 01350 specification are automatically accepted to other environmental rating programs, including LEED and CHPS.
Today, Andersen and Renewal by Andersen are the only window and patio door brands to receive this certification.
Indoor Air Quality
Indoor air quality is an important issue because many people spend as much as 90% of their time indoors, either at home, work or school. Homeowners building new homes or doing home improvement are increasingly interested in ensuring what goes into their home doesn’t degrade the indoor air quality or is harmful to the environment.
“Maintaining healthy indoor air quality is in everyone’s best interest,” said J Glasnapp, vice president of Corporate Sustainability and Quality at Andersen Corporation. “Andersen has delivered high-performing, quality windows and doors to homes for more than a century and we take pride in industry-leading innovations in the areas of energy-efficiency and sustainability.”
The products specified in the SCS Indoor Advantage Gold certification include Andersen® Architectural, 400 Series, 200 Series, and 100 Series windows; Andersen Architectural, 400 Series and 200 Series Doors; and Renewal by Andersen® replacement windows.
