Andersen Corporation announces today that its ENERGY STAR® qualified windows can help homeowners be eligible for up to $4,000 in rebates through the State of Minnesota’s Project ReEnergize, a new homeowner rebate program designed to save homeowners energy and money, while also creating jobs for Minnesotans and Minnesota companies.
“This new legislation is a great opportunity for Minnesota homeowners to improve the energy performance of their homes while stimulating the state’s economy,” said Susan Roeder, Corporate Affairs Manager for Andersen Corporation. “We applaud the Minnesota legislature for having the foresight to create legislation that both encourages energy upgrades to existing homes and has the potential to create more jobs in our state. As a Minnesota-based company, we appreciate the opportunity to earn this business and encourage homeowners to make their purchases in Minnesota.”
A benefit to Minnesotans is that they can be eligible for the new state-wide rebate and the federal tax credit* for qualifying energy efficient windows and doors for an opportunity of up to $5,500 in tax credits* and rebates. In addition to the up-front savings for homeowners, Andersen® windows with SmartSun™ glass can greatly reduce energy costs of a home with windows and doors that are up to 70 percent more energy-efficient in summer and 45 percent more energy-efficient in winter when compared to ordinary dual pane glass.**
In May, Andersen introduced the Andersen EcoExcel™ energy performance package to make it easy for homeowners to identify products that meet the federal tax credit* performance criteria for windows and doors. “Our EcoExcel package has been well-received by remodelers and homeowners as they plan their remodeling projects and take advantage of the federal tax credit that will only be around for a short time,” said Roeder.
