Andersen Adds Product Enhancements to Help Builders

Windows and Doors Are Now Easier to Order, Install and Finish

BAYPORT, Minn. (June 25, 2008) — In addition to bringing contractors some of the most innovative and attractive products in the industry, Andersen has found ways to make them easier to order, as well as faster to install and finish. Several new factory-provided enhancements help save time and keep jobsite costs to a minimum.

  • A Bigger, Better and More Beautiful 200 Series – New hinged patio doors, more tilt-wash sizes, and exciting new accessories like TruScene® insect screens, folding casement hardware and simulated divided light give builders more ways to offer Andersen products.
  • Finelight™ Grilles-Between-The-Glass – Andersen products with Stormwatch® protection will be available later in 2008 with an additional factory-installed grille option for High-Performance™ impact-resistant glass packages.
  • Seamless Frame Combinations – New double and triple combinations are joined inside a single seamless frame for casement, awning, transom and picture windows. Both vertical and horizontal combinations look great and simplify installation.
  • Pre-Assembled Patio Doors – Factory-assembled Andersen 400 Series Frenchwood gliding patio doors arrive at the jobsite ready to install. Unassembled doors are also available.
  • Pre-Applied Extension Jambs – Factory-applied extension jambs speed installation. They can be ordered for most windows in 4-9/16” and 6-9/16” depths. Drywall returns are also available for some windows.
  • Protective Film – Protective Film is now on nearly all Andersen 200 Series, 400 Series and architectural windows and doors. It cuts masking time to a minimum, then peels away for spotless glass.
  • Factory-Painted Interiors – Save time and create a uniform long-lasting low-maintenance white finish that can’t be duplicated on the jobsite. Available on most Andersen 400 Series windows, extension jambs and interior mull casings.
  • Retractable Insect Screens for Gliding and Hinged Patio Doors-Inswing – Features a redesigned system that is easier to use, operates more smoothly and, because it uses a small canister on each side of the doorway, is less obtrusive.

“Our goal is to help our customers make the homes they build better and the process easier,” said Shawn Aherns, product marketing manager at Andersen. “We’re doing this by not only providing quality products, but also by offering additional conveniences that assist the building process from start to finish.”
