Two basic configurations are used in combination design: 1-way combinations and 2-way combinations.
Some windows may not be available in all or any combination listed below, see the Combination Turtorial or consult your Andersen dealer for more information.
1-Way Combinations |
Stacked
Stacked combinations are vertical window combinations where the opposite sides (both side jambs) of individual units are fastened to the building structure.
Ribbon
Ribbon combinations are horizontal window combinations where the opposite sides (head and sill) of individual units are fastened to the building structure.
2-Way Combinations |
Ribbon & Stacked
2-way combinations exist when multiple vertical stacks and horizontal ribbons are joined together. Unlike 1-way combinations, the opposite sides (head and sill, or both side jambs) of individual units are not necessarily fastened directly to the building structure. 2-way combinations are joined with both vertical and horizontal joining material and may require reinforced joining materials depending on the local building code requirement for design windload (measured in pounds per square foot, PSF).
Make sure your combination is safe and complies with local building codes:
