Manufacturer's Certification Statements
Andersen® windows and patio doors help increase your home's comfort and energy efficiency. Better yet, if you buy them now, you may qualify for a credit of 30% of the product cost up to $1,500 on your federal income tax.*
The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (“the Act”) provides federal tax credits for eligible building envelope components that improve energy efficiency. To meet the eligibility performance criteria under the Act, windows, doors and skylights must have both a U-Factor equal to or less than 0.30 and a Solar Heat Gain Coefficient (SHGC) equal to or less than 0.30.
How to qualify for the Federal Energy Tax Credit:**
- Purchase a qualifying Andersen window or door with both a U-Factor and SHGC of 0.30 or lower. See Andersen’s Manufacturer’s Certification Statements (see links below) for Andersen products that have NFRC certified U-Factor and SHGC values less than or equal to 0.30.
- Save your sales receipt and the Manufacturer’s Certification Statement** with your tax documents.
- Purchase and install qualifying products in your principal residence between January 1, 2009 and December 31, 2010 and meet all other requirements outlined in the federal tax code.
- Claim the tax credit associated with your qualifying purchase on your Federal tax filing for the 2009 and/or 2010 tax year.

For purchases made from January 1, 2009 to May 31, 2009
The guidelines for the Federal Energy Tax Credit prior to June 1, 2009 allowed ENERGY STAR® qualified products to be eligible for the tax credit in addition to products that meet the specified performance criteria of both a U-Factor and SHGC of 0.30 or lower that was released in the 2009 American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA). If you purchased Andersen products between January 1, 2009 and May 31, 2009 and your products are not found on the Manufacturer’s Certification Statement, please print out the following technical sheet which lists the NFRC U-Factor/SHGC ratings and the 2009 ENERGY STAR qualified zones for Andersen products and keep it with your tax forms.
