Andersen Green Record and LEED Credit Support

When you install Andersen products in your project, be sure to count the LEED points in the categories below.

Energy & Atmosphere Up to 17 LEED Points - Category total

EA Prerequisite 2: Minimum Energy Performance

Standard Andersen products with High-Performance™ glass meet ASHRAE/IESNA Standard 90.1 and are designed for reliable, long-term performance.* All Andersen published performance values are NFRC certified.

EA Credit 1: Optimize Energy Performance

While Andersen High-Performance glass exceeds ENERGY STAR® requirements, optional glazings are available to optimize building performance based on regional climate factors.

EA Credit 2: On-Site Renewable Energy

The energy efficiency of Andersen products helps reduce annual building energy requirements, maximizing the potential to obtain up to 3 points available with this credit and additional innovation credit for exceeding maximum credit requirements.

Materials & Resources Up to 13 LEED Points - Category total

MR Credit 4.1, 4.2: Recycled Content

Andersen 200 Series, 400 Series and architectural products have been certified by Scientific Certification Systems (SCS) to contain between 4% and 16% recycled content for NFRC size units, varying by product line. The recycled content of Andersen products contributes to earning this credit. Over 24% of the feedstock used to produce Andersen glass contains scrap glass. Under this credit, internally generated scrap is not recognized. In accordance with the ISO 14021 Standard, 12% to 17% of our glass feedstock would be defined as recycled content. Fibrex® material contains 40% pre-consumer recycled content.

MR Credit 7: Certified Wood

Andersen has been Certified by SCS and holds FSC Chain of Custody Certification Code SCS-C0C-001337. Contact your Andersen representative for additional details.

Indoor Environmental Quality Up to 15 LEED Points - Category total

EQ Credit 2: Increased Ventilation

Andersen operating products can be incorporated as part of a natural ventilation strategy to meet the requirements set forth in the Carbon Trust Good Practice Guide 237 (1988).

EQ Credit 3.2: Construction IAQ Management

Materials and factory-applied interior finishes used in Andersen 200 and 400 Series products have been certified by SCS as SCS Indoor Advantage™ Gold based on the CA Section 13150 Specification. The intent of this credit is to promote better indoor air quality.

EQ Credit 4.4: Low-Emitting Materials

Agrifiber products used in 200 and 400 Series windows and doors contain no added urea-formaldehyde. Optional prefinished interiors eliminate the need for on-site finishing.
