Choose from panels that open outward or into the interior of your home. Hinged outswing patio doors give you more usable space inside your home and are a good choice if you’re short on interior space. Often used in warmer climates, they allow you to place furniture, artwork and decorations closer to your interior entryway. Hinged inswing patio doors save room for smaller exterior areas such as balconies, patios and decks, and are a good choice if they open to a small balcony, deck or patio. They’re often used in colder climates where snow might build up outside the door.
Andersen® A-Series Frenchwood hinged patio doors not only open your home to the world outside, they bring the beauty of nature inside. They can flood a room with sunlight and provide panoramic views, and their wide wood profiles add an undeniable elegance to their surroundings—yet they are just as effective in sealing the elements out.
Glass can affect energy efficiency more than any other part of a window or patio door—and not all glass performs the same. Andersen offers one of the industry’s widest arrays of glass options, enabling you to find the right choice for your climate and your home.
Our Andersen A-Series includes the following glass options, all of which can be enhanced to improve Sound Transmission Control (STC) and make them more burglar resistant:
Outstanding overall thermal performance for climates where both heating and cooling costs are a concern. Standard.
Satisfies coastal wind-borne debris code requirements, lowers sound transmission, resists forced entry and is energy-efficient. Tempered also available.
Tinted to reduce heat gain from intense sunlight while offering the safety of Low-E4® Impact-Resistant Glass. Tempered also available.
Window grilles offer an extra design touch to enhance any architectural style or express the taste of any homeowner. Andersen® A-Series windows and patio doors offer a variety of grille types and grille patterns, making it easy to fit both your style and your home’s. For a signature look, we’ll work with you to create custom grille designs.
A sample of our patterns for casement windows is shown below. Many more are available. Patterns for other windows or patio doors may differ, depending on product type and size. For details, see your Andersen dealer.
A-Series patio door hardware is available in several styles and finishes.
Choose aluminum insect screens or TruScene® insect screens, which provide a clearer view, help bring the outdoors into your home and are less noticeable from the street.
Hinged insect screens are available for single-panel doors.
Gliding insect screens are available for two-panel active/stationary doors and feature Delrin® material injected molded bottom rollers with self-contained leveling adjusters.
High-quality stainless steel endures harsh and corrosive environmental applications such as coastal areas.
To create space for blinds or shades, these handle extensions add 1 inch between door panel and handle. Two handle extensions can be combined for additional space.
For hinged doors, the panel stop helps prevent wall damage when opening inswing doors. Multiple finishes are available that coordinate with door hardware.
An aluminum sill support locks into a channel under the sill and ties back into the wall, offering greater support to the outermost sill section.
A ramped sill provides a smooth transition from interior to exterior and can be used with a retractable insect screen. Shown on a 400 Series Frenchwood Gliding Patio Door.
A six-pin cylinder lock allows the patio door to be locked and unlocked from the exterior.
An oak or maple threshold finishes the interior sill, and provides a smooth transition from exterior to interior. Shown in Maple.
Double-hinged insect screens are available for two-panel double jamb hinged doors.
Stormwatch® structural enhancements meet most coastal U.S. building code requirements, improve energy efficiency, and resist wear from salt water and storms.
Control your heating and cooling costs by choosing the best type of glass for your climate and performance needs.
