BAYPORT, Minn. (December 19, 2013) – Andersen patio doors topped the list as well, claiming the number one position in the Doors: Patio category for superior quality, the brand used most in the last two years and the most used brand. Respondents to the survey also cited Andersen as the window and patio door brand they are most familiar with, continuing the company’s legacy as the most recognized wood and clad-wood window and patio door brand among builders.
“Andersen has carefully tracked the results of the BUILDER® Brand Use Study since 1998,” said Sal Abbate, chief sales and marketing officer at Andersen Corporation. During that time, results show that:
- For 16 years, builders have rated Andersen highest in quality among patio doors
- For 16 years, builders say they have used Andersen wood & clad-wood windows and patio doors more in the last two years than any other window brand
- For 16 years, Andersen has been the brand builders have used the most, more than any other brand of wood or clad-wood window and patio door

Andersen products have consistently scored high year-over-year in product quality, in particular. The 2014 study shows Andersen ranked 6.05 and 5.96 out of a possible 7 in quality of wood & clad-wood windows and patio doors respectively. Other rankings for 2014 show 87 percent of wood & clad-wood window respondents are familiar with the Andersen brand, 48 percent have used Andersen window products in the past two years, and 24 percent choose Andersen windows the most among wood & clad-wood window brands.
Similar results show the top-billing sentiment toward Andersen® patio doors with 83 percent of respondents familiar with the Andersen brand, 46 percent using Andersen patio door products in the last two years, and 22 percent choosing Andersen patio doors most often.
The yearly BUILDER Brand Use Study includes a nationwide survey of builders on their preferences related to a wide variety of products and brands. Andersen has consistently faired well in the study since the inception of the program. The survey sample included more than 2,400 BUILDER magazine subscribers.
